In Becej, in the summer of 1911, the first soccer ball was brought, when football began to be played. Becej is known for the great success of the water polo club Becej, which in 2000 was the winner of the “Final Four” tournament, which was held in Becej. Thus, the water polo players of Becej became the champions of Europe. Our swimmers, kayakers, bowlers and table tennis players are the bearers of the brightest medals, both from the European and World Championships, and from the Olympics.

TISA RIVER

The Tisa is a Central European river and the longest tributary of the Danube. Tisa springs in Ukraine, in the Carpathians, in the area of Bukovina. It flows through Ukraine, Romania, Slovakia, Hungary and Serbia, a total of 965 km. In Serbia, near Stari Slankamen, the Tisa flows into the Danube.
